My Work Environment

Business, Fun Stuff, Personal

I’ve noticed that quite a few bloggers like to post pictures of their work places… you know… where all the magic is supposed to happen. Being tired, cranky, stressed and lacking my Prozac and a morphine drip, today would be a good day to put up just a few photos of the place that I call home nearly 90 hours a week. I’d be interested in seeing the places each of you work as well. C’mon, it’ll be fun.

My humble abode…

Okay so this is my desk. Loaded up with an ACER 10 gig machine, two 24 inch HP Hi-Def  180 degree rotational monitors, a Wacom tablet, assorted mice and digital pens, Mr. Potato Head, some Hydroxycut Hardcore, scented oils and candles, as well as my cup of coffee sporting a John Wayne motif.

Oh… I’m sure that you’ll also notice those fancy clubs hanging out back there too. I’m a freak for golf even though I don’t have much time to play these days… none the less, my lady went ahead and bought me a brand new set of graphite clubs to hack around with… but if you look close, you might see that hers are still in a little bit of bubble wrap… gotta get her out there soon.

One place I should visit more…

I’ve put on a little bit of weight in the last 6 months… to the tune of about 40 pounds. That’s a lot of fat my friends and that little bottle of Hydroxycut on my desk just doesn’t seem to be working as planned. Then again, maybe I’m not using it right. Oh well… I’ve got a little workout room here at the office and I keep promising myself to get on at least the freakin’ treadmill. Yeh right.

What you can’t see is how massive the dumbbell set really is. Oh we’ve got a few other goodies in here as well. Medecine balls, 50 pound punching bag, set of free weights and a few other exercise related toys… nope, never used one thing from this room. Not one.

The Conference Room!

This is the place that I close 99% of my deals… unlike other basement hacker firms, I’m proud to present clients with a warm place to write checks and view project progress. Though you can’t see the entire room from this little photo, the table seats 10 people and is accompanied by a 72 inch screen. Pretty impressive stuff.

Some things you won’t see…

The office is equipped with a fingerprint secure server room air-conditioned from the floor up holding about 30 terabytes of free space. Not the largest bank on the planet, but big enough to host the websites and databases of municipalities, banks, airline manufacturers, shipyards and a slew of mom and pop sized companies.

Adding to the servers, secretaries, office space, and modern equipment is the brand new DS3 internet line. Yeh… it’s fiber optic, cost little more than 25,000 bucks and makes T1 connections look like their sleeping.

It’s the end of the tour…

All in all, I think I’ve got a pretty awesome setup here and it shows in the work I put out. My office is something I’m proud to show, so maybe you guys and gals would like to do the same. Take a few snap shots, put em up, and let me know where I can find em… it’s always interesting to see how and where other bloggers work.

two 24 inchers? mine is only 22 inch, :) the only thing that I have bigger is the actual deskspace. I custombuild my desk (have been a carpenter in my young years) and it allows me to easily do my bookkeeping and editing tasks.
Wish I could have had such a nice conference room but our house is way too small for that, that’s some pretty impressive working environment you got there!

  2. PB Says:

@ Robin: Yep pretty pricey stuff but worth it as you would already know. As for the desk… my cave isn’t big enough for much more… so I envy you on the work space you’ve got!

  3. Nick Says:

    nice place :D

  4. Mrs. Piss Says:

    Tee Time

Yep. Maybe you should make some time to play a round of golf. I may even join you.

  5. zania Says:

Hello ‘Clayton Donley’, looks like The Piss Biscuit has been scraped.

And I’m sorry to hear you are tired, cranky, stressed and lacking your Prozac and a morphine drip. (sounds bad…)

But the workplace – I love it!

I’ve got a bigger monitor than you though … but that’s because I use our 32″ TV monitor at the moment. My little den with the brand new pc is too hot this time of year. And the new pc is vista anyway, which I hate, so I use my old pc plugged into our TV – flash or what?

I love the pink golf bag (or whatever you call it.. I’m not into golf), but that’s because it’s pink, lol!
But as to the little bottle of Hydroxycut, seems you haven’t read the instructions…That workout room looks great. Even better when you use it… ;)

    My work place?
At the moment it’s in the living room an old, very hot, unfinished village house, with walls which still need painting and loads of other decorating still to do. But it’s home.
    As to pictures,
you can see the place where I do all my thinking on the top of the blog linked to in this post.
    And that’s all that’s worth seeing :)

@ Mrs Piss: Tee time it is my dear! But, I’m driving the cart 8-)
@ Zania: First let me just say that the withdrawals aren’t as bad as they sound. Second… 24 + 24 = ? LOL… sorry had too!

Pink is for Mrs. Piss… it’s her favorite. But those carbon bad boys next to the dainty pack of pink ball wackers is all mine!

    Hydroxycut… I read the directions… I just can’t seem to follow them… especially the “…most effective with regular exercise…”

Maybe I’ll do a series on losing weight… gotta get the sexy back before Mrs. Piss goes running for the hills on me.

And finally… I LOVE the view. Totally awesome. Jealousy becomes me. ;-)

Cool stuff man, you’ve got a nice office there bro! I currently reside wherever I can find space in the house! My wife says I can get a desk of some sort soon…so, that will be nice.

Most of my work is done at the kitchen table :)

    Jealousy.

I’m jealous of you Piss for the awesome conference room and that you actually have space for workout equipment. My workspaces consist of my father’s PC in his living room where there is constantly either a Western or a black & white movie on & a basement coach with my girlfriend’s laptop at her family’s house (yea, we both still live with our parents…so what…she’s still taking college classes and I’ve had to put off grad school at USC until next fall when I can hopefully afford it). Needless to say, not the most enviable workspaces.

And I’m jealous of the view zania has! Definitely not fair.

@ Blue: I got your e-mail. I’m interested. I replied to you with the details.

I happen to be another “one man and his laptop” outfit for now.

I’m pretty new to online money making so hope I can get to a stage where I have an office of sorts.

I am planning on traveling around a bit in the next few years so if business is good, I will probably rent office space wherever I go.

I could do with a nice 30″ screen but can get by without it.

You clubs look awesome, they def need some dirtying!!

Awe you tidy’d up just for us. My “office” is a freaking circus most of the time. smacked with coffee cups and half empty coke cans, little pieces of paper where I keep my notes, 3 pairs of sunglasses, have a window behind my monitor, But I have a view of the neighbors bedroom window, weird huh. Dont know why I would need a second monitor though, ive seen this in more than a few bloggers pics of their offices.
Looks cool though and nice digs dude, well except for the golf clubs golfing is boring :-P

    @Shane,
‘view of the neighbour’s bedroom window’ huh…?
Maybe you should be an adult blogger…

I used to use 2 monitors so that I could see what my sites looked like in both Firefox and IE and in different screen sizes (until one of the monitors broke, that is…).
But maybe PB uses those dual monitors for other things. The mysteries of web design still defeat me.

  18. PB Says:

@ Shane: Yeh admittedly it’s a bit more tidy than normal, but saying that I did spring cleaning for a candid photo shoot would be pushing it. ;-)

Coke cans, coffee cups, Red Bull, and a myriad of other assorted goodies like Post-It-Notes do typically appear in intervals, however as I get busier, I find it easier to handle my workload mess if my desk mess is kept to a minimum.

As for your window into another world… maybe Zania is right? You should e-mail her and she can open a few more doors to your Make Money Online Efforts (That on is for you “Z”)

  19. zania Says:

    Thanks PB, lol!

Well, Shane (and anyone else interested….) could always look at the blog I have linked to in my signature…

You might want to take out the first part of the ‘recent post’ title though PB. I guess it might be a little too explicite… ;)
