What’s Ahead on the Biscuit?

Business, Site News

It\'s a long road ahead!

Well this is amazing. It’s something like day three and I’m still motivated to keep going with my friend the biscuit! I know it might be a little “whatever”, but for someone like myself it’s a major accomplishment. So in the spirit of keeping things going for myself as well as trying to show you guys what I’ll be working on, I decided to put together my inspirational list of post ideas. Over at the Blogging Experiment, one of Max Davis’ first posts was actually a poll asking his readers what they wanted to see… it produced amazing results so I’m going to follow suit and join the “ask your fans” fan club.

Asking for your help… again.

I know that someone somewhere is going to steal some ideas, or then again maybe they won’t, regardless – I’d like some input on what you all would like to see me write about. I come from a solid business background within the niche of design and development so I’m sure that some of these may hit a nerve. I’ve got more experience than I care to think about watching hundreds of online businesses come and go. As a designer, we get to hear all kinds of ideas, and even see a few get put into action. All this makes for quite an interesting knowledge base I must say and I’m ready to share it with you. So without further ado, here’s my potential articles list…

How to re-gain control of your design clients

To plan or not to plan. A guide to writing your business’ agenda.

Video blogging? Does it help or hurt your blogs readership?

Anyway people, these are just a few ideas I’ve had over the last few days and they’ve all got my name written all over them. In some way shape or form these topics have the potential to help bring new light to some old issues we all have (or have had). I think my unique writing style, and blatant disregard for feelings might take them to the next level too. What do you think? Which three of these articles would you like to see first?

Ok, finding help is hard is a good one for me, i’ve been trying to find good writers for, oh, well, about six months. Maybe I’m just too full of myself, I dunno…

The other ones that would be cool just to see, fake it til you make it, but number one i think would be video blogging. Big shift there, and I’ve considered it, but don’t know if it’s the way to go.

@Nick: I’ve got a few favorites too and video is one of them. I too have thought about doing some, but there’s just nothing like good handwritten content.

As for the “Fake it till you make it”… LOL! As a web designer I see clients come through the office all day long with big dreams and empty pocket books. I’ve had every type from the YouTube copycats, to Bill’s bait shop who wants to revolutionize the way you by worms online.

Point is that if you’re going to act like a big shot… you’d better play the part. I’ll get some of these up in the coming days… and hey nick, thanks for coming, hope to see you again.

WOW, you have put a lot of effort into this project already and I like your thinking. I would certainly read more to hear about your experience so I gotta say ‘the real way to optimize’ would be up there at the top of my list. Also keen to hear more about charging what you are worth.

Some great ideas already though PB – Keep it up!

@AP: Awesome… I knew you were going to pick that one. In fact, I sort of made a point to include it just for you. I’ve got some pretty neat stuff to put together that I’m sure you’ll appreciate. I’ll start working on getting it finished up sooner than later.

As for charging what you’re worth… that’s really for myself. I’ve done much better in recent years, but at points of desperation I’ve been known to steal from myself just to get the work. Sad but it’s the truth. Thanks again for the great compliments. I’m really trying hard to do some cool stuff here. Do you think it “looks” okay so far?

Mate…your site looks brilliant. I check daily and see that you have been adding some nice little touches. Actually, I’m kinda jealous really.

    Looking forward to reading more!

  6. PB Says:

Thanks AP! Once again your accolades are not going unnoticed. Don’t be jealous! Need something? Let me know, I’d be more than happy to help just don’t be bashful. I’ve got a bunch of new stuff coming too so as always, keep me informed on your thoughts if you don’t mind.
