PB’s Site Stats After 2 & 3/4 Weeks

Well here we are, a bit behind on my weekly update for progress of the piss biscuit… but none the less, here it is. I’m on my laptop baby sitting my puppy “Bella Monster”, and being that I don’t have any fancy graphics software on it, I’m forced to re-use my graphics from week 1… but somehow I think I’m the only one really all that worried about it

Traffic Stats
Traffic is an amazing thing. It’s a living breathing organism. It can be fun, but very frustrating to watch! Over on The Affiliate Post’s blog, I wrote a little bit about the traffic stats of my MMO blog (I bet you all didn’t think I had one of those huh?) Anyway, it’s pulling in between 300 and 500 bucks a week, so it’s not doing to badly, but it’s not making me rich either.
The point is, that when looking at stats of a blog that makes no money on purpose, it’s really hard to build an honest comparison when all you’ve got to compare it with is a blog of a whole different niche. Kind of sucks for success junkie like myself but, you guys are teaching me how to work through the ups and downs of blogging and so I wanted to once again update you all with the progress of this blog.

But as always, I’d like to know what you guys and gals think. It would be interesting to see your opinions yet gain on how YOU think we’re doing here!

Nowt wrong with those figures PB and thanks for the mention…again
I know you are about to do an advertising experiment (which I will comment on I promise) but are you advertising currently? Where is your traffic coming from??
Just did a little post that might get a smile out of you!!

Hey PB, I’m sorry that I have been around here lately. Kind of busy with getting myself out of the ’sandbox’ thing. Yeah, the good news is Google has decided to let me out of that hole and I hope it’d better keep its promise.
It looks like you have been doing pretty well over here in PB. Impressive stats for a 3-week old site I should say. A 3-week stats of mine didn’t even come anywhere close to yours.

@ AP: Smile achieved!
At this point the experiment, is sort of on hold. I haven’t gotten one submission that really makes a whole lot of sense for me right now. Gawker & b5media are both great resources, but they aren’t the advertising campaigns I was talking about. I wanted to start small and grow my efforts according to the growth of the blog… just like “normal” bloggers would do. Yep, I can afford to do some tinkering with the bigger boys, but this is more about experimenting to learn… rather than just blowing money for fun. If any of you are new here, you can check out the experiment here:

As for the origination of traffic, there really isn’t much of a definitive source. I know it’s not what anyone wants to hear, but it’s true. Other than Stumble’s 350 big hit day back during week one, everything has remained pretty even keel.
In no particular order, here are a few of the more popular sources:
Google
Site Flipping University
Blogger Unleashed
The Affiliate Post
One Man’s Goal
Adii | WordPress Rockstar
Yahoo!
FullTiltBlogging
ProBlogger
On the bigger blogs, the owners tend to be less interested in their comments. Of course they want 300 replies, but they all say they are to busy to respond to each one, unless of course it can be handled with a mindless, cleverly worded one liner that goes something like: “I’ve already answered that… try using the search!”… Since this is the normal acceptable answer, I tend not to play around much over at these, however, the occasional comment can bring in quite a bit of traffic. Did that “sort of” answer the question for ya?
@ Yan: No problem! Welcome back. Stick with it, you’ll start picking up pace! You’ve got some great material over there so just keep it up.

Very nice! Your stats are quite good for a blog that’s as new as yours. Keep up the good work buddy!
