My high speed internet stopped working for a good week, which is not cool.

i came across cingular & their laptop wireless internet card, the local agent provided me with more details & it seemed a good fix, i had to wait 2hrs before it arrived still. It’s 60/mnth for unlimited usage..The wireless connection is through USB with a bulky antenna. It installed its own software & very easy to use/connect to the web.

Speed wise, it’s definitely faster than dial-up! Operates at about 1000kbs up/800kbps down (varies still) . I guess it also depends on your location. It is super convenient though; i find it as a new discovery although it has been out for a while. Wherever you get reception, you can get a wireless signal.

Will review more after some usage… it currently does time out connection at least 3 times in 8hrs of operation… not sure why?

Dsl, cable, t1/3… It is awesome to have super fast connections… dial up is just so bad.

i love technology =)

Hey guys, giving everyone an update. The site is undergoing some changes currently, let me know if you run into any issues in different browsers (ie6&7, ff2&3, mac).

Amidst the changes and things going on. I came across this service that I wanted to share with you. Social exposure is a big part of online marketing today, and it’s not going anywhere. With the vast amount of social networks appearing & gaining traction with their subscribers, it can be difficult and time consuming to execute your social marketing reach with managing 10 different networks that all require updating.
A great new site that I came across is Ping.fm. It helps you with your marketing efforts dramatically by allowing you to tie all of your social marketing sites together & send out a single message! MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and Digg are just a few available to you.

After a long weekend of reading post after post about Page Rank Improvements and of course lack there of, I decided that it was time for post about how to create a successful blog PB style keeping in mind the top 5 ways bloggers screw up their page rank. So why all of a sudden am I oh so willing to write all of this out? Well… to be honest… some of you guys have been pissing me off with some of these and rather than just put up an “Ugly Stick Beat Down” I decided offering a friendly, informative, “Authority Article” would be more beneficial.

You’re not using a “.htaccess redirect”.

Nothing is more aggravating to people like me who take time to write a thoughtful anchor… then it’s discovered the your domain name is spattered across the web in both “www” and “http://” formats! See, not only does that piss us off… but it weakens the “G-Juice Trickle”. To Google, not using a redirect can appear as if you are referring to two different websites. That said, you not only weaken your own rank, but you weaken the value of the outbound link of the author who wrote a little something about you.

You’ve not Updated Your Ping List Dummy

Yeh, I know someone is going to tell me that they’ve got “ping-o-mattic” and that covers it… ha! Okay… you put all your eggs in one basket why don’t ya! Look people, if you don’t have the notifier list updated in your admin panel, then it could take DAYS for your latest post to be listed in the serps. There is nothing worse than finding links through your referral stats rather than you’re serps feed readers! If the serps aren’t showing the backlink, you’re not getting credit Einstein! Oh, did I forget to mention that I’ve already written a post about the importance of the ping list? Yeh, it includes the latest and greatest services to! NOTE: Being listed in the serps is not the same as being indexed… there is a major difference!

Your 404’s are not Re-Directing Either

Nothing pisses off an author more than discovering that their well thought out anchor text to YOUR blog leads to a big fat 404 error. Do you want to lose some Page Rank? How about some love juice from the big “G”? Or how about that oh so valuable anchor text that you worked so hard to earn? I mean c’mon people, I don’t think that there is an easier way to screw yourself and the people who write about you! LOL… What’s ironic is that people often go back and rename their posts for better SEO… the result is a fatty-fo-fatty 404!

Wanna see it work? http://thepissbiscuit.com/best-blogger-on-planet/ (That page does not exist, but you don’t see no stinking 404 now do ya!) As for the Plugin that can help make it happen? Try the 404 redirect for better SEO!

Comment Chatting Needs to STOP!

Okay number three was the fastest way you can lose rank… but this my friends is the fastest way to lose readers and more importantly… commentators so listen up. If you’ve got the “Subscribe to Comments” plugin installed… I AM TALKING TO YOU! Over the past three days alone, I’ve been notified of about three hundred comments being added to the blogs I post on and subscribe to. Of those three hundred or so comments, 25 or 30 of them were actually something I wanted to be notified about. What I don’t want to read… is comment chatting… useless banter sent within minutes and sometimes seconds of each other.

Tonight on one of the newer blogs that I read, notified me of 19 comments in under 10 minutes which consisted of nothing more that silly fruitless banter like:

“great post”…”Thanks”…”No problem, glad you liked it”…”yeh man your post was great”… “Thanks man, I appreciate it”….”No seriously, it was really great”…” No dude, if only you were a girl”…

I hope that you get my point. Sure, I could go and cancel my subscription… but that requires work, and I’m to busy for that right? What’s easier for me is to either stop subscribing… or stop commenting. Neither option is good for the blog’s author. So what’s the solution? Try holding back your responses a while. When you as the owner, can respond to five or six comments at once… you can reduce the number of “flaky” comments sent out via e-mail by 60% or 70% and give the spiders time to find your fricken post! After your post is crawled… get stupid with comment chatter on occasion. Just remember that your readers should be respected.

You’re not listed in DMOZ

Okay this one is harder than it sounds. DMOZ is the open source directory… the biggie in fact. More so than Google in fact… and while we’re talking about facts… if you’re listed in DMOZ, you’ll likely be auto indexed by Google within days… not listed… indexed! Ya see the DMOZ directory is run by real people. You submit, they review, and if you’re cool enough, you’ll get listed. It’s a cake walk! (Fat joke at myself).

So when should you apply for a DMOZ listing? When you’re blog starts seeing some traffic, comments, and decent posts… it’s probably a good time to submit. Remember that REAL live people edit each submission… you’ve got to impress someone, not just meet some mathematical criterion. Now keep in mind, that this can take a week or it can take 6 months… but because people are involved, you never can tell.

Don’t want to get “Sandboxed”? DMOZ it.

Don’t want to lose your PR? DMOZ it.

Don’t want to be de-indexed? DMOZ it.

Wrapping up my Page Rank Hints

As I mentioned earlier on… I wrote this to not only help you guys and gals… but to point out that good blogging can lead to more than just high PR and Traffic counts. It can lead to a great community, awesome friends, respectful relationships, a useful resource, and a profitable online business. So if all that isn’t reason enough to become a better blogger… go eat a cupcake!Don’t forget to go read my post on “The Best SEO Trick for Bloggers“.

If you like this post, and think it would be a good AUTHORITY article… scratch it… sniff it… lick it… but whatever you do, please Stumble it!

Working with clients can be total nightmare and when I saw Adii post this to his blog this morning, I decided I just had to share it! The funny thing is, that it goes right along in the context of this past weeks discussions about time management, so I doubt I could really find a more relevant time to show it. The video shows what almost every real designer has to deal with and while funny… it’s very true.

A day in the life of a designer…

I know it’s a bit glorified, but when I gripe about not getting things accomplished in a day or getting burned out over the most silly of things… maybe after watching this you’ll have a better understanding of why…. Enjoy!

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

Long term affects of abuse

Now don’t get me wrong, clients are the ones who pay the bills around this joint but boundaries need to be set and maybe now you can see why. Everyone from School teachers to hairdressers have unions to help regulate and remove any potential monopolization and abuse… so why not designers? We get trampled, abused, requested, blamed, and ripped off more often than you might think and usually by the SAME client!

The reason is because we are all trying to earn a living, build a reputation, and find loyal customers… it’s a hard task, but it’s the only way we survive. Much like an endangered species… we too will eventually become over hunted (abused) and die off.

Why are prices on the rise?

If any of you have ever needed a design for something, you’ll know that getting bids is scary. Scary only because you never know what body parts you’ll be asked to sell to pay us. The fact of the matter is that abuse like portrayed in this video, is the very reason prices are on the rise. But the good news is… you all actually have a chance to start making a difference by cutting us some slack and letting us do out job. If you need some mindless grunt to push buttons on a computer while you dictate the design… go hire a high school student.

You think our prices are going up for fun? LOL, not quite my friends… they are going up because our available time is going down. When our time goes down due to over bearing clients… our work load goes down. When our work load drops, so does our income. And of course when that happens… we pass that along to you… the overbearing client. Sounds fun right? Yeh, it hurts all of us.

The debate could go on.

I know starting a debate that I don’t have time to argue right now is not wise… so I’ll mark this full post as one to explore in coming weeks. In the meantime… take a look atthe video again and hoefully you’ll start to realize that we are people too you know. We don’t like to get abused and we don’t like feeling like we’ve let our clients down. Take a step back and realize that any good designer can deliver… all we ask is to be treated fairly.

So what do you think about the video? I know some of you still have jobs, so how does this scenerio fair out in your work environments?

After some serious back and forth debate amongst my peers, and a serious look at what I’m up against, I’ve decided to respond to Vic from Blogger Unleashed. I know through both comments and e-mail… this response is well anticipated. I’ve taken the time to not respond in an unpleasant manor, but in a manor that is deserved. So without further ado… here we go. I’ve linked dictionary.com to certain words I feel you may have a small deficiency in understanding so please, by all means feel free to click them for a more clear understanding of this letter.

The Official Reply

Vic,

I’m writing you today in response to the rude, crude, arrogant, self centered, pusillanimous e-mail you sent me the other day. I’d like to just take a moment to let you know that I harbor no ill feelings towards you as I am sure that you cannot help being so insecure. Your mental instabilities that were once questionable in my book are in deed now certifiable, so for that, I commend you. It takes courage to step out of the box, and show the world the inferior side of ourselves… and you my friend nailed it. 10 points an a sympathy vote earned.

You missed my point

In regards to my initial inquiry, I was simply being amenable to the possibility of a future challenge of sorts. However, you’ve haphazardly taken my offer, and turned it into a conquest. A Crusade of sorts… to rid the blogging community of useless amoeba like yourself who seek to do nothing more than destroy the very community that has made you the person you are today.

You abuse those who made you

Frankly Vic, it’s a bit pathetic. It’s pathetic, that people like myself… look at “self proclaimed business men”, like you and wonder what it would be like to be afforded the opportunity that you have been given. You no longer can be trusted to hold a valuable opinion after this awesome display of professionalism. You’re fake comments of gratitude towards your fans is a total joke… as you have now shown your community what you think of us… and yes… when you spoke to me… you spoke to everyone who is like me. It is obvious by your reply that you hold no regard for the people who put you on that podium you squat so proudly in front of.

Listening to you is suicide

You’re a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and I feel sorry for those who follow you with such passion and intent. They have no clue who you really are, but I sir, have gotten a taste… it is rancid. You my friend are a glutton. A greedy little man pissed at the world for not being cut out to live amongst the people, and survive in the real world. I Congratulate you for finding your curtain to hide behind… Ha ha, the best pat is that it’s behind the safety of a sandboxed XBox360 website. Wow.

I need to address “Son”…

Vic, I’m not sure if it’s a limitation in your vocabulary or simply a comprehension deficiency due to old age, but I am not your son… and I don’t appreciate being called such. In fact… it’s a bit demeaning, but I’m sure that was your intent. So, please correct that and address me as PB… got it “pops”?

In a league of your own

You made it quite clear that you feel as if your in the major leagues, while I’m still in line for a dizzy bat contest. Fair enough, but I find it interesting that you assume you know something about the work that I do… or that I have done. I also love how in all of your genius… you really think I’m dumb enough to let the cat out of this bag… LOL. Yeh!

Your “early judgment” is what the real world marketeers call a fatal flaw “pops”. You’ve sized up the enemy before you even know where the war is… ask Napoleon about that. But for a guy with 800 websites… having 8 worth mentioning is piddlings in my book so I’m really not impressed. In fact, if they are anything like your Xbox site… Wow, I see why you’d need 800… hedging your bets on a few would be to risky. the spamming of hundreds on the other hand… remarkable.

Your amazing 1% success rate

You made it clear that this is a topic on SEO not making money so personally, I’d rather have 10 sites with only 5 SEO worthy ones worth mentioning. That would be a 50% success rate. Sounds like your teaching some pretty good stuff over there at “Blogger on a Leash” if it’s okay for 1 in a 100 sites to be a winner… that my friend is 1% success rate… but wait… only 7 or 8 good ones in you “cluster”! There is something wrong with that picture for sure.

Playing by fair rules

Vic, I almost said it’s not worth fussing with… then I thought about taking your challenge, your pride, your ego, and your money… hell let’s up the anti… I’d want your blog too. None of this should be any problem at all considering you are so confident in your win.

In the end Vic, I’m more that willing to take the “pops” challenge… make it interesting and include Blogger Unleashed while your at it. If you want to play fair and show off those skills… I’m game. Hell I’ll even come to Vegas. From here… I’m open to discussion, but we are both very busy… so let’s not play games. You want my 20 grand? You’ll earn it fairly… if I want yours… I’ll earn it fairly.

Early the other morning I decided to send Vic Franqui an e-mail asking him about his “challenge” to not only be friendly, but to find out some details about what they involve… you know the ones where he challenges the world to beat him at his own game. The funny thing is. Vic came off the hinges after only ONE friendly e-mail.

Well after getting his response… I decided that competing against him for 20 grand might actually worth doing. I mean wow… knocking Vic from his podium… what fun! On the other hand… black hat in hand… the guy is a loon and competing against a known spam-o-holic might be pretty silly.

My e-mail to Vic

—–Original Message—–
Vic! I hope that this e-mail finds you well. I wanted to write you today,
because I’ve read over and over again that you know what you’re doing when it
comes to marketing a site.

I’m not going to ask you a bunch of silly questions, or request an interview, I
simply would like to offer myself up to cause.

What’s the cause… a challenge. I’m not broke and I’m not one of those drones
who isn’t willing to put in time or money. I’m not ignorant, or arrogant. I’m
simply a guy with a few years experience under his belt who feels that he’s
willing to take on a “Vic” challenge.

I’ve heard that no one has ever accepted a challenge (that could be
inaccurate), but I’m ready and willing.

Please consider this an open invite and let me know if you have anything you’d
be interested in doing.

Oh, I’m a website designer by trade… not a basement hacker… but a real live
one, so if you need anything, let me know… I’d be more than happy to see if I
could help in some way.

Thanks for reading Vic. – PB

Vic’s response to me

Ok first of please tell me who has accepted my challenge as you say “(that could be
inaccurate)” second son when you contact a person you use a fucking name. I am a business owner I do not have time to be playing games with fucking noobs I do not give a fuck if you can make little wordpress themes do you really think that tells me anything about your skills with actual SEO knowledge. Do you actually think you could even be in the same fucking league as me?

Son I own over 800 live production sites to support that network I own over 300 pr3 to pr7 sites in my link cluster, do you really think you can fucking even come close to having a chance against me head to head LMAO!!!!

Normally I would jump all over and easy $20k but since I just got out of the hospital and had to reflect on my mortality I feel I should give you an opportunity to reflect on this.

Let’s See:

thepissbiscuit.com
Inlinks: 1091 Over 80% are from onemansgoal.com and all PR0 links and the anchor is “Piss Biscuit” LMAO!!!!!! You do not have one anchor for a term that is searched again LMAO!!!!

bloggerunleashed.com
InLinks: 25,131 over 60% anchored with “Make Money Online” 20% anchored with other niche related anchors as “Make Money Blogging” Make Money Vlogging” “Internet Marketing” currently rank on over 20 top niche related terms in the first 2 pages of Google. All this in 6 months on a site I currently max spend one hour a day if that.

But son let me give you an actual new example so you are totally clear if you are looking to lose $20k you can never say I did not tell you upfront what you would have to deal with.

http://xbox360redringofdeathfix.com/
The site is 2 weeks old.
In one week took position 1 in Google for the term “xbox 360 red ring of death” and the site was sent to sandbox but I still own on live.com depending on your data center position one for the term “xbox 360 red ring of death” giving me from MSN Live over 50 unique hits a day and converting at around 20% giving me a profit around $160 pus a day

Now son knowing what you know now you have 2 options. Act like you never sent this email and I will also act like it did not happen or option 2 lose $20k.

If you chose option 2 it will go down like this.

I cannot spend time right now on this until October after I am done with the contest and all my blogging convention trips. If you chose to lose the $20k you will meet me at the September blogging convention in Vegas. I will be getting to Vegas on the 17th and staying at the Sahara Hotel and Casino so I expect you to meet me at 5PM at the lobby bring the $20,000.00 and will book the bet at the Casino. We will keep it simple for the bet. We will both build brand new sites on October 1 2008 and pick a top level competitive keyword term, example “credit cards” the bet will end October 31 2008. Whoever ranks the highest in Google for the term wins the bet. We will fully negotiate terms and have them notarized at Vegas.

Vic

and my response…

I’ve got a lengthy reply that I’d like to send Vic, not to be mean to him, but just to let him know what I think about his response and to hopefully clarify some little details that he’s not been privy too. He thinks I’m a newbie… he thinks I know nothing about SEO… he thinks that PB is some sort of ability score card… I mean damn Vic… you made a lot of assumptions.

Anyway… In the next day or so, I’ll put up my reply… in the meantime, what do you guys think? Should I pull the trigger on ol’ Vic… or let him sit there in his own glory until he makes himself puke?

Well today I’ve got tons and tons of stuff that I really wanted to write about but because I don’t have all day, and over posting seems to be a bad thing sometimes, I decided to incorporate all my thoughts into a re-cap list of sorts… you know like a newspaper would do.

Well today I’ve got tons and tons of stuff that I really wanted to write about but because I don’t have all day, and over posting seems to be a bad thing sometimes, I decided to incorporate all my thoughts into a re-cap list of sorts… you know like a newspaper would do.

PB’s Premium Theme Giveaway is has now been moved up!

2:00 pm Thursday the 26th (central standard time) will be the, new… albeit closer, drawing date for the contest. That’s right people, I’m moving up the contest up few days to accommodate a surprise conference I’ve got to attend at the end of this week. That said, just remember that I’m giving away two premium WordPress themes designed by Adii and all I ask for in return is a little link love. One theme will go to a randomly drawn Feedburner subscriber, and the other to a random trackback post to the contest! Read More…

An Update for a Tweak A Week

I’m really very disappointed in the results of my “Tweak A Week” post. What I thought was a generous and totally awesome offer to help give you guys something cool, didn’t pan out very well. Of course everyone wants something for nothing, but all I asked for was a little help promoting PB. The end result was (0) zero linkbacks… (1) one Stumble, and a handful of comments and e-mails from theme affiliate re-sellers (not the designers) making crude and unwarranted remarks that made no viable sense. So I mean what the heck is the point right? It was flop, and with many hours of work each theme takes… I’m not quite sure it’s something I’m going to continue past the first winner. What do you all think? Remember, I’m running a business!

The Ultimate Mimbo Pro Review is Coming…

As you all know, “Robin” was this past weeks winner of “Tweak A Week“. Hopefully he will be sporting the new theme soon I’ll let you guys know when it’s up!. That said, I mentioned in some of my initial posts that from the start Mimbo Pro was just a big problem. Well… in PB fashion, I stand here ready to tar and feather myself for your gawking pleasure! WIth the Help of Darren, Mimbo Pro works like a charm and I’ll be the first to say that it’s a real winner. I’ll be writing up a full blown review towards the end of the week explaining how my server’s settings were causing the failure as well as my thoughts about what I found under the hood of one of the coolest WordPress themes I’ve seen. Anyway, more on that soon so stay tuned!

Gearing up for the blog flipping contest

As you all may know by now, Bryan Clark is throwing one hell of an awesome contest and I’m siked about it. Not only am I entered to win it… I’m a sponsor throwing in about $900.00 worth of theme tweak work as a prize as well as a banner ad over here at the now famous PB! Get your asses Registered…

John Joubert is giving it all away!

Mr. Joubert wrote up a great plug for me a while back about my “Premium WordPress Theme Giveaway“. So as any good fellow should do, I stuck around to read more about what he’s doing over there. Now that he’s giving away things like his specialized consulting work and free web hosting for a year… I wanted to let all of you all know that he needs our collective support! Help a fellow blogger gain some publicity and get your self some cool free stuff while your at it.

Well today was the dawn of a new day for me guys and gals… it’s the day that I’ve dreaded having for the last three weeks now and it’s finally reared its ugly little head. If you’ve been blogging for any amount of time you’ve likely experienced such dread but how do you combat it? Combat what? C’mon, it’s depression people and it really bites the big one.

I need a Xanex on the fly!

I’m not sure what spurs it on. Is it the fact that I cannot dedicate all of my time to blogging when that’s what I’d love to do? Is it the fact that it’s that nature of the business we’re in… to find ourselves amidst frequent bouts of depression due to issues beyond our complete control? The questions and emotions are running high and I’m in search of an answer… and quick. I’ve felt this before in plenty of other ventures but for Piss Biscuit, this is a royal first. Usually, this is the feeling that I get within hours of starting something new. Buyers regret of sorts. But why the hell am I getting it now? I don’t like it at all… In fact I really hate it if I’m being honest.

Trying to uncover the mystery that is me, I’ve broken it down to a few issues that have shot ot the top of my list. You ready for this?

Bye-Bye Commentators

Commentators feed me. They motivate me. It’s you guys that inspire me to do things like write fun, inspiring, argumentative posts… it’s not that I’m bored… I promise. I live on the idea that my visitors are here to participate, to communicate, to be a part of good old fashion organic blogging once again. You know, the roots of it all. But is that what readers are looking for? At this point I’ve got my doubts because my comments have been dropping like an anchor.

My comments have gone down substantially in the last week and I fear that it’s for one of two reasons. Neither are good enough for me to accept, but none-the-less it’s happening and it’s really kind of crappy. I need to fix it and fix it fast. So what do I think is my problem?

I don’t have focus here, which is what people really are looking for. You want a reason to be here, not just a pit stop. I’ve got a fast food joint when you all want to sit down and enjoy your dinner. I’ve read a number of comments as of late asking about my focus, where it is, and why haven’t I gotten any. Maybe it’s been such a turn off that you’ve moved on?

I’m being overly anticipatory about what I think Piss Biscuit should be doing. We had a great start. I’ve been thrilled with the comments up until that pas few days. I’ve even been happy with the traffic, in fact, it’s pretty much stayed balanced. But maybe, just maybe, the great start was just a quirk. Maybe, it was a fad. Don’t know, but it’s bothering the hell out of me the more I think about it.

The other day someone mentioned to me that they were feeling REALLY burned out with blogging and they needed to take a break. Is this the same feeling I’ve got? Am I just burnt or do you guys really just mean that much to me?

No Focus = No Posts?

The math is simple really. Without focus, it’s really hard to maintain something interesting enough to dictate a daily read… I know this and I’ve tried really hard to combat the issue. I’ve offered to give away goodies like preium themes… I’ve tried to give away web hosting, I’ve even tried to pawn off a conference ticket worth $1000.00! As of yesterday, I even offered to let you guys spend my money trying to do a little advertising experiment! To me it’s such a cool idea… let someone else spend their money, on your recommendation. It’s a bloggers dream to know where to advertise and where not to… then I’ll share the results! What more could you ask for? New comers and seasoned pros all should find some sort of value there right?

What do you do?

So I’m well aware that this “depression” is the root of most blogging failures, but to those of you all still out there pluging away at it, what do you do when this happens. I mean, what do you do when it happens this early on. Some people take vacations, others might pop pills or binge drink. How do you all handle the blogger blues?

As many of you all already know, I’ve really been trying to gain some focus with Piss Biscuit as of late, so that I can continue my branding efforts in a positive… moving forward light. Admittedly it’s been one of the more difficult tasks that I’ve had to deal with and I think I’m gaining a little clarity. My moment of enlightenment, though brief, is a moment I wanted to share none the less. May be it’ll inspire, maybe it’ll motivate. Maybe someone reading will be comforted in knowing that they are not alone in the wild west of the blogging world. Maybe, just maybe, someone will learn that you don’t have to start your goals with what you do want, but with what you don’t want.

What I won’t do…

If anyone has taken a few minutes to read my “About Me” page you’ll notice that Piss Biscuit was started as somewhat of a joke. But after one of the coolest mistakes I’ve ever made, it’s now a blog containing fun and interesting bits that pertain to our lives on the internet. I like it this way, and from the general consensus, it seems to be different in it’s own right which is why PB can be oh so addictive at times. But rather than talk about what I will do, lets talk about what I won’t do and see where it brings us.

John Chow

I’ll never be John Chow and it’s not because he makes more money than I, it’s because a don’t find his material useful. Granted, when I first started reading blogs I too read the rumors. I heard the figures. I read the bad press. Yep, I was intrigued by the mystery that is Chow. But you know what? It took me about a day and a half to realize that John was good for one thing and one thing alone… creating new bloggers! So that this doesn’t turn into a bash so and so post, I’ll simply say that unlike John, I care more about what I write than how many people I convince to buy something. To me, this is the difference between a blogger, and a good blogger. A blogger is something I’ll never be.

Website: http://johnchow.com

Shoemoney

I’ll never aspire to be Shoemoney however, he is oneof the few guys I actually subscribe to. But the reason may surprise you. I subscribe to Shoe’s blog only to be given the chance to glance over his daily posts and see what’s going on without having to stop in at the blog itself. I can scan through it with the quickness and move on. On occasion, I’ll go for a visit, but it’s rare. I really dislike the holier than thou approach that he takes and more often than not, his posts contain frivolous content that don’t offer anything of real value. Take today’s post for example… He talks about WordPress hack attacks. Wow! It’s not like none of us get the WordPress News feed in our admin panels right? I never want to be a useless blogger.

Website: http://shoemoney.com

Blogger Unleashed

Vic is an interesting guy. Between his obsessive use of the word “folks”, a spirited array of foul language, and his awkward… and mostly illegible… writing style, I find nothing there that is helping create a better community. Vic is doing something right, but what is it? People must be making money… so the guy has a following for a reason. But is he building a healthier blogging community? Not really. He’s teaching that it’s okay to act like a jackass. He’s teaching that’s it’s okay to go on a witch hunt. He’s teaching how easy it is to flood the market with more useless blogs… I never want to be a community spammer.

Website: http://bloggerunleashed.com/

FullTiltBlogging

Aaron is a super smart guy. In fact, even though we’ve had our own little misunderstanding over the past few days, I think the guy is pretty interesting. The jury is still out on his “mentoring” class as I know nothing about it. What I don’t like is his shallow posts. Nothing against him directly, but read them. Most are more like blurbs, rather than actual thoughts, which is great for him and it works. But personally, I don’t ever want to offer my readers half assed posts.

Website: http://fulltiltblogging.com

Bloggin-Ads

In all fairness here, I’ve only given Mike the PB onceover so I can’t comment on his content. What I will comments on is his layout and design. All of you know that design is my profession so I take it quite seriously. I love the grass roots feel that I get from Bloggin-Ads, but honestly, I can’t stand the blog’s design! Poorly optimized graphics, broken scripts, and horribly laid out material. It’s actually a designers nightmare. Besides thinking that a great re-design would totally spur a new wave of Bloggin-Ads subscribers, I never want to be the eye-sore of my circle. On a side note, Mike puts up some really, really good posts.

Website: http://bloggin-ads.com/

So to the point…

Now some of you will think this is simply a bash other people post and that would be the farthest from the truth. All of these people have inspired me in some way shape or form and for that, I’m grateful. Alot of people out there just starting out want to put a particular “tag” on their blogs. They want to settle down on a niche within a niche. I say that my niche is blogging. Not making money online. Not blog reviews. Not mentoring. It’s not a how to.. or what I had for dinner blog either. It’s simply a good old fashioned blog that talks about whatever is on my mind. And I will do my best to keep it that way.

I think while some of you are asking for me to “create” a direction for The Piss Biscuit, you are failing to see that it’s right where it should be. In your face, increasing traffic, and building relationships all surrounding the blog world. That my friends is my niche and I’m sticking to it. Regardless of your goals, business, background, or niche, The Piss Biscuit will have something for you.

So what do you all think about some of the other blogs I mentioned? Who inspires you? This should be interesting. If there is something you like share it. If there is something you dislike, share it too! I want to know what inspires the people who inspire me. Good, bad, and ugly.

Well I was about to head home from the office when my reader went ding! It was FullTiltBlogging’s feed reader and when I read the headline, I almost flipped my wig. Arron, has decided to and I quote:

Each week you will have the opportunity to recommend a marketing babe to possibly be elevated to “Marketing Babe of the Week” status. The Marketing Babe will get her picture prominently placed on my blog, a complete bio page and links back to their blog.

It’s a win-win-win-win-win-win. (That’s a six-way win, which is far superior to the “win-win” and at least twice as good as the “win-win-win”.)

I knew that some of these guys were cut throat, but straight up stealing an idea is simply pathetic and I’m pretty pissed about it. Arron’s one and a half paragraph posts and “borrowed” ideas have really burned my ass and I’m pretty pissed off about it.

Talk About A Low Blow!

If I remember correctly, it was not even a week ago, when I presented an idea for a new section on Piss Biscuit offering to do the same thing… but of course only better! But wait, Arron is calling it “Marketing Babes” Okay, so the ONLY change Arron has made is calling it “Marketing Babes”. Holy smokes Arron, you could have been a bit more original don’t ya think!!!

Payback is Hell!

Now, I’m more determined than ever to get all these submissions I received posted and get this baby kicked off ASAP! The only thing exciting is his first submission! So where do we stand with this? Good question! Since this has now become a war of contrition for me, I’m willing to offer almost anything to show ‘em what we’ve got.

Make money online blogs wage wars all the time… so I’m getting prepared to dig in and fight! I think I’m going to have to recruit UBTC for help as she is in with all the lady bloggers (I hope). Maybe this is worth a custom theme designed by yours truly!

Spartans! Ready your breakfast and eat hearty… For tonight, we dine in hell!
