Blogger Unleashed is Out of Business!

Fri, Aug 8, 2008

Business, Fun Stuff

Well people the dog has finally bitten it’s owner and the owner… is Vic Franqui of Blogger Unleashed. LOL. He’s just posted a video on how lame Blogger Unleashed is… and that he’s pulling the plug! The funny part of this whole video post, is that it simply proves that you’re a product of your environment. He’s created a beast… a beast mind you, that I said was coming.

Blogger On A Leash

From a psychological point of view Vic is a basket case, or at least that’s my opinion. This dude has plain as day, bashed and complained about every one of his minions that made him who he is today. Suicide. His disciples, have taken what he’s taught, turned on him, spammed everything he owns, reported his sites as keyword stuffed, and the man is surprised! He even makes mention that his “charity cases” are blogging about not making money… Vic hiding out… being thank full they didn’t follow his advice… The list goes on and on Honestly… Vic’s had a target painted on his chest for a while now and I’m a bit surprised that it has taken this long to put that Blogger back on its Leash.

Vic backed away from my $20,000 dollar challenge

I tried to snag him a while by taking him up on his $20,000 dollar bet. You can read more about my letter, his response, and then my final reply here: PB VS. Blogger Unleashed & PB VS. Blogger Unleashed 2

In short Vic backed down and gave up. But seeing that he’s not making any money with his “Charity Blog”… $20,000 would be hard for him to come up with anyway… so I’ll give him a pass. As for his claims of making a fortune doing other things… he’s following a sales pitch created by the makers of BANS. Buy BANS. Build 500 websites. Make a dollar day. Be happy. Be wealthy. Did he mention the degradation of the blog market? Nope. How about the dilution? Nope. How about not having a life. Ask AP about what it means to bust your ass for thirty days building a website. Try it with 20 much less 500.

The Blogger Unleashed Domain

I’ll call this my open offer to Vic. Rather than simply throwing it all way, let me buy it. I’ve got some spare silver change that I can throw at ya. It’s better than nothing right! Hell Vic, I’d even consider giving you the 20K that you would have lost. *Snicker*. Well goodbye Vic, I know I’ll miss your once in a blue moon posts. I’ll miss being booted off of your forums. I’ll regreat never being able to piss off your minions traitors, in your video feed…LOL… the old days, gotta love em.

So boys and girls, watch the video, and let me know what you think… oh and if anyone can tell me how many times he says the “F” word within the hour and twelve minutes… you’ll get a cookie!

Well, I watched the video before I read this.
And I was one of the many commenters on that post who said thank you to the man.

I don’t know what you’ve got against him PB (apart from his response to your challenge when the guy was ill), but he has given loads of good advice. It’s not his fault if people can’t carry the stuff out like he says. He put his ass on the line for them and whether you like it or not, people do appreciate that.

And as to his ‘minions’, they include some pretty heavy players who are making money and know what they are talking about.

And BANS was not about building blogs incidentally.

Sorry if that sounds harsh PB, you are a great guy and I like your community here at the Piss Biscuit, but I really don’t know why you are so set on going after Vic this way.

What it is with you guys? (if I could find a shaking head smiley I would post it here…)

Here you are trash talking another blogger, same thing you criticized Vic for. I understand you desperately need some traffic…smart move trying to write a controversial post but the fact is:

Vic has helped many people make money online and has the respect of well known bloggers like Court, Grizz and Justin from SEO Zombie.

How many people have you helped make money online? Who here at PB’s blog can say that PB has helped them make money online. What do you teach?

This is a tabloid type blog. Dude, you should drop this blog and start a celebrity blog. That is where you would fit in, in my opinion.

What is you best, most helpful and informative post on this blog? I want to read it because it isn’t really fair to call you useless if you actually have some real information here.

Can anybody please suggest to me what PB’s best post was?

  3. mary Says:

You don’t have the balls to post my comment do you?

  4. PB Says:

@ Zania: Wow this could get long, but I’ll try and limit myself for the sake of sanity for all of us. :-)
I’ve discredited his attitude, actions, methods, and of course his professionalism. But the man acts like an asshole… Oh, and I’m not saying anything that can’t be determined by ANONE watching any of his videos on their own. I mean c’mon… How’s this for a quote?

F**k you. You lazy no good rotten mother f**kers! You all are untrustworthy, useless, mother f**kers who do nothing but complain and want to take advantage of me. F**k you! - God Bless You All

What a douche bag. Being an asshole IS his right. However, along with the privilege of being an asshole, comes the wrath of people who refuse to be talked to that way. I am one of them.Vic cannot have his cake and eat it too. No way.

So you appreciate what he’s done huh? Well what has he done? What has Vic brought to the table for his readers? He’s taught people hot to get de-indexed. He’s taught the “Flood Method of Marketing”. Which is nothing more than his way of polluting the planet with useless websites and sales pages. He’s teaching people how to run spamming software… on more than one computer for God’s sake. He’s taught people to be so cut-throat… he can’t even manage his own blog anymore! How many other bloggers are out there saying they have to quit because no one is grateful? No one.

Fact is, that anyone blogging longer than a few days knows you cannot expect grateful readers. If you have them, you are lucky. But it’s not part of the game. Being taken advantage of is part of the deal. I’ve dealt with it… but I have yet to call any of you “Stupid Mother F**kers”… I simply moved on.

The man is a product of his environment. That is an unarguable fact any way you try and look at it. His video is over an hour of solid crying and complaining about the very things he has been teaching!

He has been bitten and bitten hard. My post is NOTHING personal. It’s a life lesson. You will become a product of you environment and it never fails. This proves my point.

As for Vic’s “big dog disciples” who apparently know what they are doing… so what? Those guys do nothing for me when it comes to validating Vic or more importantly… his methods. I read Court for Court. I read Griz for Griz. I do not however think that either one of those guys are pushing the same spammy crap that Vic is pushing.

So the man made a few friends. Good for him. Again I ask, what has he taught? I keep asking that because it’s not about him… it’s all about what he has brought to the table that contributes to a better community. A better community creates a more profitable community.

Just think about the “Pirates” from yesteryear. Much like the Viking are said to have done… pillage and plunder was their mainstay. Their non-existent society was built around stealing. Manipulation. Intimidation…. Abuse of Government. Blatant disregard of rules and laws. Starting to sound familiar? Yep..Vic’s business model is much like a pirate’s life. In the end… what is left? There are no pirates. There is no Vic… remaining are a few simple stories that will be told from blogger to blogger for years to come.

Am I on a hiatus against Vic? No. Am I glad he’s gone? No. Am I glad he’s been eaten by those he’s taught? No. I am glad however… that I saw what was going to happen in advance. It tells me that am reading the market and understanding the people. That is a pretty important skill to develop as a blogger. I’m passionate about this because I felt that Vic was doing a great job of creating a monster. The Frankenstein of bloggers if you will. The beast has taken it’s creator. Nothing more, nothing less. Simply a lesson in doing things the correct way. Did I mention maybe a little lesson in humility?

I knew that this post would stir some reaction… especially from you as I know that you’re an active Blogger unleashed supporter. But I’m actually a little shocked how you can’t… or seem to deny… the fact that this was heading down hill from day one. This was the wrong way to do business. The wrong way to handle people. The wrong way to market. The wrong way to do everything! It was simply wrong and no matter what… Vic now admits it.

BANS, never said it was for blogging. I did however say that it went from being an easy way to build a website… to an easy way to create junk pages. MISINFORMATION.

No offense taken… Zania, I knew we would be able to debate this, and I’m sure it will remain open. I’ve not taken any offense to what you’ve said, and I hope you the same. I’m simply passionate about creating a healthy prosperous blogosphere for generations of bloggers to come. Lets learn a lesson from history, and at least try and keep one thing on this planet clean.

  5. PB Says:

@ Mary: Is this aggravating Mary from One Mans Goal…LOL! I’m glad you’re an active reader of The Piss Biscuit!

Do me a favor… point out where I promise to make you money? I don’t, so please don’t barge on to my sandy beach with your Kool-Aid mustache and 12 kids to simply disturb the mojo.

I’m glad that Vic has the respect of others… that means nothing to me. I’m glad he’s made friends, but my decision to like Vic’s METHODS are my own… and you won’t change that. So what is it to you if I think Vic’s system was bad? I guess I’m more influential than I thought.

As for my best post… let me suggest that you stay a while. The best is always yet to come. But just in case that brain cell up top isn’t working… let me lay it out as plain as I can.

I DO NOT TEACH. I DO NOT TRAIN. I DO NOT PROVIDE TUTORIALS. As an avid reader Mary… you should already know that. In any event… you’re just a chicken as the rest. I challenged you to put Vic’s methods up against mine (Which I do not teach)… you too backed down. So if you’re finally ready… lets do this thing… I’ll challenge you again. No skin off my back. I’ll be here when you’re ready.

  6. Nick Says:

I wouldn’t say that Vic has taught nothing. If you follow some of his methods word for word, you’ll make some cash. The problem is, very few of us actually have the dedication to sit there for days on end doing all the little things that Vic does to his sites to rank high. The other problem is, from what I’ve gathered, his methods aren’t neccessarily built for longevity. You do what you can do for now, then when it falls apart, you move on to the next one and do it again.

I hate to admit this, but the guy is a master marketer. Love him or hate him, once you find him, few people can leave him alone. Over everything else, controversy sells. Look at Eminem, back when he first came out he was the most controversial figure in the world. he had every white kid walking around with bleach blond hair. Either people followed him like he was a Jesus, or they completely hated him, but everyone knew what he was doing. Vic is like that. The guy is a master marketer.

When i first found the guy, I loved what he was doing. Then after I got brought in, and started seeing what was going on, I kind of became disengaged because I just didn’t like how he talked to people, I realized he really didn’t give a fuck about each individual like he claimed. Or maybe he does, but he doesn’t know how to express it. He says it’s tough love, maybe it is. But he came at me once for asking why he was going so hard after the MMO phrase after telling his readers it was useless. That was the end for me. It’s cool to cuss at the ’scammers’ (even though I highly disagree with calling Bryan Clark that, that was another end of the line for me), but not your readers. Not the people who made you who you are, you don’t do that.

It’s a sad end, but it’s fitting. Gimmicks only last for so long. Just like Eminem disappeared, so did Vic. Why? because both of them let their talent get consumed by their gimmicks.

  7. PB Says:

@ Nick: I think you’re very right. The deal is I’ve never had a problem with Vic. I’ve never had anything personal against him other than how he talks to his “people”. It’s my personal preference to distance myself from that… just as much as it’s some one else’s decision to put up with it.

My sentiments about Blogger Unleashed is only skin deep. I think that the man is VERY MUCH a marketing genius… but, to watch him wiggle at his own doings has a lesson in it for all. I hope that he remains healthy. I hope that he decides to keep blogging. But I hope he decides to stop being such a jackass and act like a human being for once in his life. If he did that… he’d have a following like no other. It would be downright amazing.

  8. Nick Says:

ACtually, I take that back. I was told that Vic had said something foul about me in his latest video without watching, but he didn’t. So he never said anything about me, but I still don’t like how he talks about his readers sometimes.

But PB, new video is up over there. Vic took your challenge.

  9. zania Says:

Well PB, you’ve got the debate you wanted with this, haven’t you? I was going to leave this alone after my first comment, but then I guess I’m not that sensible…

As Nick says, Vic is a master marketer. I think a lot of people realised this, but some of them did not understand entirely what that meant.
There are many different marketing models, as you know, and Vic’s is (mainly) more about the numbers game. It has to be all about high numbers for the process to work really effectively.

In your previous post which I’ve yet to answer, you asked me how I managed to handle so many sites and blogs. I work along similar lines (only from an adult perspective which is different in some ways). So I know it works if you do it right.

But as Nick said, this type of marketing is not about permanency. It is about hitting quickly and, if you get slammed, moving on quickly.

Yes, I saw this coming too. As soon as Vic went out there and gave people an example of what he was doing, he got slammed. The really annoying part for Vic in all this was that he showed one of his good sites, rather than one which wouldn’t have mattered if he lost it.

And true to human nature, the jackals got him for it. So I do feel sorry for the man. He went out of his way to show people how things work and rather than getting thanks for it he got shafted.

As for being a jackass and the language he uses… I must be missing something here, because I really don’t give a f*** about the way he talks. I really don’t see this as an issue. For heavens sake, are we all such narrow minded people that we can’t see beyond that?

And yes, the guy got angry and frustrated with those who kept asking him for help and still doing things wrong. You’re an intelligent guy PB, how often do you get frustrated trying to show people something when they just don’t get it?
I know I get damn frustrated!
Do I say so? Not often (although I have been known to…), but then I’m more diplomatic. Does that make me a better person than Vic or a hypocrite?
    I know which approach I really prefer…

And as to people not wanting to *prove* their marketing methods work. Why should Mary want to do that? I certainly wouldn’t. After all, look what happened to Vic.

When you are really trying to make money online, you don’t go around taking challenges (unless you want to make a big social thing out of it like Garry Conn and John Cow…). You just get on with the job in hand.

And now I’ve spent too much time debating rather than practicing what I preach… :)

And I’ve just seen the next video is up.
Can’t see it on my screen, but from the comments I can guess what’s being said.

Looks like he’s going out of his way especially for you PB.
    Are you up to this…?

zanias last blog post..Depression Makes It Hard To Reach Out

  11. Nick Says:

No no, Zania, i don’t care if the guy swears, and cusses, or does whatever he does, it’s when he starts calling his readers fucking idiots and shit, that’s what what I don’t like. BUt yea, I mean, there is value there. Either you are going to love Vic, or Hate Vic, but once you find him you never leave him alone, because it’s always like, Wow, what is the guy gonna say next. It does rub me the wrong way sometimes, but sometimes it doesn’t… I dunno.

But Vic did take the challenge, so I guess he is in that category with Gary and PB now. It’s about seeing if he is real, seeing who is really the best. PB pulled his card, it’s the same thing that happens on the streets, or in a bar, people test each other to see what they are really about. PB pulled his card, and Vic answered the challenge. Now we’re about to see if Vic is for real, because there’s no way either one of them can walk away from this now.

  13. Nick Says:

I’ll save you some time. He uses some derogatory statements aimed at PB, but he never says his name, says that he’s a worker, and not a boss like him, blah blah blah, and he announces that he will take the challenge, and again tells PB to be in Vegas at that said time. Then he ups the ante to 50K, then later re-reaises to 75K. He makes some more jokes about PB, and tells him that he’s money will be sent to buy a new house in Miami if he shows up, but he doesn’t think he will.

    The end.

I’m probably way too interested in all this, but PB if you’re smart, you’ll take the challenge and hire some behind the scenes help from some ‘dodgy’ people.

  14. zania Says:

    Seen it now.
    Actually, it was pretty funny.

  15. PB Says:

@ Nick: “Good thing you didn’t mention any names or anything in the video, you aren’t going to ruin any careers that way, only his group of readers will know what happened.” - That’s real cute.

@ Zania & Nick: Hiring dodgy people to beat him only confirms Vic’s methods are… less than stellar. Something I certainly don’t condone. But that is my choice right?

@ All: You all can’t seem to get it into your heads that Vic was the instigator here. I wrote him. He fired. I fired back. End of story. A month later, I write a “I told you so” post” and bam! Vic wants in again. Ha ha… predictable.

In good old Vic fashion… the man comes back and posts the very day after swearing off the blog and his readers. Ahh… so predictable yet again.

LOL. None of this is worth losing 75,000 dollars over. As a person with brains… I know I could lose. I never said losing wasn’t possible, and I certainly would feel the sting.

I also never said I knew better than Vic. I simply disagree with the way that he does it, feeling that my methods are more effective at making money… THAT was the challenge. I wanted to Challenge Vic to a business venture… not a spamming contest. Product of your environment right?

@Zania… in regard to Mary… I honestly don’t have the time to waste, but if she’s going to come around acting like a degenerate… she’s going to get handled like one. As for the video being funny… I like when he makes those faces and even the gaspy little gurgley noises… but I’m not sure it was all that funny. I’m not offended, but “funny” is stretching it. Sounded like a degenerate to me.

@ Nick: If I’m smart? We can discuss that one on Skype.

    Time to move on people.

  16. Jay Says:

PB, he really went at you! Even though I try not to spend time following “blogger drama”, this is worth following if it’s a 75k challenge.

  20. Nick Says:

@PB- The reason I said that is because if he would have said your name, then he could put his spin on it, and all his minions would be here saying all this shit, then it would spread and you’d have a bad rap. Everyone here knows what it is, Vic has all these freaking sites, and he’s deadset on using them in the contest. There’s no way someone that doesn’t have 10 years worth of sites built up could compete with that, and then it’s not really a battle of the skills, it’s a dick measuring contest.

  22. A neutral Observer Says:

I have been following this discussion on and off for a while now. I really dont know what to say. Too much testosterone and challenges…I dont like these. Nevertheless, the method that Frangui teaches is absolutely 100% solid. I am not going to get in to the whole thing of how much money I make and so on…What unleashed teaches is not to put your eggs in one basket. Test out many sites in bulk…If one site makes you more than 1 dollar a day, keep it work with it make it bigger. If it doesnt, you either throw it away or use it for the infrastructure use it for an article directory or something similar. From all of the mmo advice I have read in my time this is absolutely the best. As a matter of fact, I have had some .infos deindexed, I have others that are over PR3 and I have others that are PR0 but make me money day in and day out. All this with a $1 investment…I am content. I have tested the method over and over and it is time, cost effective and it works….for me. I take all advice with a grain of salt. And so I did the same thing with his. Some stuff he suggests worked for me others didn’t. If I were to criticize him for something, I would definitely not criticize him for his business plan.
@ Piss biscuit…I really don’t understand….Why would you even think about asking this guy to a “friendly challenge”? What point to you have to prove? That one business plan is better than another? You seem to be taking some initiatives online and perhaps making some money from this. Why do you need validation for your plan? There is not only one way to reach a goal. But what do you expect Franqui to teach the ones he teaches?? These people are new to this business…he cant just tell them to go start an online venture…He started from the very basic stuff which is to get links for their site and to try many thing out….In regards to the challenge. It would not be a wise thing for you to take it. And there can be many excuses not to. I wouldn’t if I were you, I wouldn’t want to jeopardize 75k, 50k 20k or even 1k for that matter. Thats just me i dont like gambling. the two of you have two different business plans, it would be like comparing watermelons to cherries. I rather post this comment without a name. Not for anything else but I really dont want to take part in a hopeless who is better contest.

  23. PB Says:

Here is my final say on the whole thing and then we’ll be moving right along.

@Nick: I know where you stand. No question. I simply must be aware of my surroundings as this has gotten way out of hand. I don’t doubt your loyalties, though loyalty is not what I aim for. Friends, however is a whole different story. With friends, comes loyalty. - Thank you for being both.

@ Observer: I understand your comment totally. I appreciate your insight and position as much as I appreciate the insight of my readers.

@ All: Why I thought I could do a friendly challenge with Vic is a mystery. Maybe even at this point a mistake. I respected the man’s method, but disapproved of them. I thought it would be nice to see who could build a better business… but as the Observer mentioned… it’s comparing watermelons to cherries. It cannot be done.

I’ve got two reasons to drop this challenge issue and move on.

1.) It’s not a challenge of two like minded plans. As Nick put it, it simply would be a dick measuring contest. To which was NEVER the intention.

2.) 20 grand is one thing… 75 grand is another. I’m open book, and so I’ll tell you… losing that would hurt. I know Vic seems to think that I do not work for my money… but it’s simply not true. I work hard for the money that I make and I have no intention risking it over this. Neither should he.

In closing, I think that some of you, even my readers, have mis-read what the purpose of this was. And maybe it’s because I failed to write out my thoughts properly. Don’t know, but I want each of you to know that I appreciate all the help and support you gave. I’ve realized that this sphere of people maybe more fickle than I ever new, none the less, its the sphere we all reside in so we must make the best of it.

I’m quite sure Vic will call it a back peddle. That is fine. I’m hoping he has enough sense to read through all of this and realize that we are two different people with two different methods of doing things. It’s that simple.

I feel bad for the man and how he was treated by his readers. I feel bad that he was taken advantage of. I feel bad that he was exploited only after teaching people what he knows to make money. I feel bad that the man has been put through the ringer by people he thought he could count on. All in all, I think Vic is making the right choice by taking his training underground. He needs to get all Zen like in his business operations and do things that earns him money not creates headaches. As do we all. So the measuring stops here. Call it what you want, but I’m moving on.

Thanks for all the support and advice! As always, it’s appreciated. :-)

  24. Nick Says:

the point everyone missing here is this. I can’t speak for anyone, but I know that PB always has a business plan behind everything. And if he could have gotten the terms to where he wanted them, such as 20K and neutralized to only getting links outside of one’s network, he probably would have done it. And even if he would have lost that challenge, chances are he would have made an honest run at it. The 20K would have been the best way publicity money could have been spent, and you never know, he might have won too. So now he’s right up there in Vic status, plus he has 20 K. If he lose’s he’s at 20k.

Nicks last blog post..The Top 25, 25 and Under: 2008 Edition

  25. A neutral Observer Says:

lol, If I were to spend 20k on my internet business, I would hire people to build me high PR blogs that can link to my money niches and transfer authority. Get people to write one thousand articles for me and submit them to 1000 article directories. Build 50 automatic bookmarking sites to bookmark my links and buy 20 high PR directory sites to submit everything to. I would use that money to dominate the serps and get a return in less than 6 months. If I wanted publicity i would just go buy local tv ads. If I wanted fame I would hire a publicist. If I want to make money I think smart.

  26. zania Says:

    @A Neutral Observer,
    You just said it all.

  27. Bryan Clark Says:

I was going to stay away from this but I just had to comment. First off, Zania, Nick, and PB - Vic is NOT a master marketer. Let’s call it what it is, he’s a master SEO. To say that he’s a master marketer would mean that he actually has something valuable to market, and he doesn’t. He’s not marketing anything. He’s a black hat seo that treats his users like shit, and he’s never created anything of any real value outside of Blogging Zoom, and we all know that it’s not exactly the next Digg, or Delicious.

I don’t want to say I told you so, but ever since the first bit of controversy we had about a year ago at OMG, I knew this would happen. I posted on it, and I still mean it. You CANNOT build a business on this kind of controversy. You’ll get short term results, and then people start to figure out exactly what you are all about. I know several people that used to follow Vic and are absolutely done with him now.

The things he teaches WILL NOT produce you a long-term income stream. They will show you how to game the system, until the system catches on and shuts you down. Eventually, all that tried what he taught will experience that. Remember, there is no honor amongst the black-hat community, and they won’t hesitate to report you for doing things that are against the rules.

In conclusion, Vic, sorry to see you go. You could have been great if you had only known that you weren’t above the people that you were teaching. Just like Rome, everyone that thinks they are bigger than their followers will eventually fall. You are one man, and you are not bigger than any other blogger out there, or what they are trying to create. You can sneer all you want from the sideline, but this game has passed you by. I guess there’s always BANs and .info domains right buddy?

Bryan Clarks last blog post..And The Winner Is…

  28. zania Says:

Brian, you have your opinions on Vic and I have mine and never the two will probably meet…
    So fair enough.

But I’m not so sure he’s gone yet anyhow ;)

  29. mary Says:

PB says, “I DO NOT TEACH. I DO NOT TRAIN. I DO NOT PROVIDE TUTORIALS.”…he just criticized those who actually DO try to teach and help.

@Bryan –there is no long term strategy in online business because things do change all the time right? For instance look at link exchanges. 3 or 4 yeas ago it was considered white hat but no it is against G’s TOS.

But I think you hit upon something in that we as internet marketers (not you PB, but the rest of us) need to be ready for when things do change and it can affect white and black hat marketers.

You said it before and you said it now that you can’t run a successful business based on controversy. But Vics business is not Blogger Unleashed but rather his network. You know what he teaches. Niche marketing. I doubt he uses any kind of controversy to build up his niche sites.

Plus, have you ever heard it said that there is no such thing as bad publicity?

Pissy —I know you think you are funny but the ‘koolade mustache’ joke is only funny once. Don’t try to force humor as it is well, no funny. You got to just BE funny.

Another thing, just because I love to disagree with you on everything (because I know better than you) doesn’t mean you should shit all over me as I AM one of your readers…at least right now. Vic never talked to me as rudely as you do.

And you never answered my question directly. What is you best post? I want to read it and see what kind of value you offer the blogosphere.

  30. mary Says:

Hey I just noticed….you don’t even rank number one for “piss biscuit” LMFAO!!!!! You wanted to challenge a professional!!!

  31. Another Observer Says:

@ Mary It’s nice of you to think of “piss biscuit” as a professional website, but anyone who reads PB would know that it is a “bloggers soapbox,” not a place where he promotes affiliate links or PLR products. I was also wondering what your best post was? I would like to read it, but I can’t manage to even find your blog.

  32. mary Says:

People who show their blogs will get their blogs flagged…are you serious? Show your blog…come on! All you have to do is report it for something, anything and it will get sandboxed so fast it’s not funny. Then you have to wait for a visual inspection…no thanks. I don’t blog anyways. I just sell stuff. I am a lousy teacher.

But if you want to read a good post of mine go to ‘one mans goal’ and look for the post where Bryan and I exchange ideas. Marc thought that was “Top Quality Content” …his words not mine.

  33. PB Says:

@ Mary: I know that we agree that we disagree… and admittedly, I do come at you… albeit in my opinion well deserved. But let me make it clear that I am a firm believer in being a product of your environment. And this environment is safe from predatory behavior like frivolous flagging. No one here, that I am aware of participates in such crude and pusillanimous behavior as it does nothing but helps destroy this awesome digital world that has afforded many of us good lively hoods. None the less, I respect your decision to be cautious. :-)
As for your post with Bryan over at OMG… it was very good. That is the type of participation that I appreciate. Make a point… even if not well received, but at least make one.

@ Bryan: It’s funny how you can look over the finer details of a discussion when you’re in the heat of the moment. I agree that I mis-used the term “marketing”. But fact is that this was never a battle of who could rank higher or even who could provide a better product to sell. It was a debate over what system is a healthier more profitable one.

Personally, I’d rather build one website that makes me $50.00 a day for 5 years, than 50 websites that make me a dollar a day for 30 days. Like usual, the entire fiasco has been misconstrued by ignorance to understand the debate here.

@ Mary: Those that teach, open themselves to be criticized and questioned. If you say that your method is the correct one, and I challenge you to prove it, I see no problem. The difference between a critique and a heckler is a big one and some people have yet to learn the difference. This is a Soapbox. And as a reader, you’d already know that.

Like “Another Observer” mentioned, I don’t push PLR or affiliate links. Hell, I don’t even do paid reviews. The only income bearing thing I’ve got are advertisers, and those stay in the side bar.

This is simply my place on the web to discuss all things blogging. Nothing more. So when I get “heckled” for not being number one as “Piss Biscuit” or ranked for anything “relevant”… it doesn’t bother me. In fact I’ve made it clear over an over again that this blog has no niche. It never was meant to, and it never will.

As for my best post… I don’t claim to have one. I think the biggest gain for any reader is that you’ll get what you come here for. A private assessment. My opinion. My thoughts… an organic outlook on the blog market. You won’t find empty promises of fortune behind these doors. I’m not a great teacher either.

If you take something away from here, great, I’m glad you found something helpful. So though you might say it’s cheating… I think the number one article is the blog itself. The whole package. I may not have 5,000 commentators, but I’ve got a pretty strong readership. I’m happy with it… it’s a personal blog, remember… and I care for each person who participates. As all of my readers should know, this is about a community of friends that all have one thing in common. Blogging.

@ HWould: I refuse to publish your comments as long as they remain totally useless. Mary, at least takes the time to leave something on the table to debate… and for that reason, her comments are approved. As for me being a “useless n00b with 3 readers”… I’ve got no readers, and no experience…Okay, your point? I may have just started blogging a few months ago, but I didn’t just fall off the turnip truck. Try leaving a comment with some sort of value… then I’ll know YOU grew a pair. (To send that quote right back at you). ;-)

  34. Asim Says:

    Oi PB,

I was reading through your Vic conspiracy theory and i was like tempted . Kick me on the back sit me on a cow and call me a donkey . I don’t really see Vic replying maybe cuz of your blue moon prophecy but give the guy a break no one is perfect but yeah if people scam the younglings like us who are new to all this leaves us with some bad nasty broken bones and we ain’t dogs or cats to fight over scrap of left meat .

If you think you know more than him (No pun intended) then why don’t you prove it . If you can’t be in his shoes and see what kind of difficulties he faces then i am sorry you had no idea while writing this post . That’s ethically logical . So you need to justify on what you say . This post is looking like a seamonkey right now . And your the lost sailor calling the shots .

20k is a large amount to loose in a gamble unless its uncalled . I think he wasn’t ready for it . Why don’t you play smaller first and then see where this goes .

@ Mary Great negative criticism good work .

@ Zania Do you even know who you’re supporting ? Or is it like Land O’hoy and find no coconut tree to get some drink from.

Well i was already late but yeah nice try to build up a debate but i think it will cool down later on . Just give it a pint and call it a day if you’re willing i can be your lab rat . And Vic’s too lets see how can you manipulate me to use it for your gain .

    Thanks,

And I can’t stand coconuts, lol!
I just like to swim to shore through clear water now and again, but as I’m sure you know, there are plenty of rocks on the way on either side. Nothing is that straight forward; negative or positive.

It’s manouvering a clear way through that’s the hard part… especially when all you find at the beach are those darn coconuts :)

I give up. What part was spam? I am a n00b, confessed. Jesus Juice is coming across as borderline incomprehensible to me, even if affable, but where’s the spam? The link in the post or just the junk content on the page linked to? Seriously, I am asking because PB and Mary popped it immediately, shockingly the one thing they agree upon no less, and I have my own personal opinion of what spam is, but am new to “blog world”. New enough that I don’t actually do it yet.

That aside, interesting post here Mt. Biscuit, and an equally interesting video Vic put out.

BTW PB: Using an alias, sorry, I am newborn to this game and prefer not to draw attention to myself as I ask stupid questions.

Regarding Vic (I never heard of him until I saw the video and read more here), he came across like a many sleazeballs I meet in South Florida. Maybe he is a nice guy when he is not in a lather, I don’t know, but if he addressed me that way to my face I would have decked him before my next blink. Based on that criteria, I have to call him a complete jerk for over the top flaming of people like that from the safety of his keyboard.

He had me feverishly Googling BANS though, but after reading about 40 pages of material on them, I think the name is appropriate. Designed to get you BANNED from search listings in due time. Not to mention a hell of a lot of work for nickles and dimes.

I am running into so much shyster junk from these get rich quick schemes advocating abusing services to pile up the nickles and dimes, it is making me sick and reconsidering getting involved. Like he the man said in his video, some people aren’t built for this. Some people prefer an honest dollar was what he didn’t say. I am pretty sure most who do that sort of shell game use the “as long as it isn’t legal, why not?” argument so they can sleep at night. But its like having people dumping waste into my swimming pool.

I am a pretty hard core technologist by trade, 20 years in the business, so I am into the design and creation and development aspects of the medium. Only recently have I given serious thought to developing my own properties instead of spending 100% of my time building them for others. From what I can tell, the money is much better per hour hiring myself out than trying to fight tooth and nail producing original content and playing catchup with the SEO brainiacs AND/OR black hats who have all of this stuff down, but I haven’t written it off yet. But really, the gutter level stuff I can live without. I am not built for that. I am no shrinking violet, don’t get me wrong, I have looked at everything from blogging about what I know and love to the other extreme, even building porn sites. I have the technical know how to do what I want. I always look at an investment with a completely open mind, and will look from the abyss to the sky before I settle somewhere in between.

But I do have to look myself in the mirror and I am having a hard time sorting out where it is that I have to draw that line because I don’t want a quickie hit and then pump and dump business. I would like fast money, like anyone else, but I want sustainable money more than anything. Sure, I’m a whore, even in my day job. I will write you the most beautiful face for your most utterly ridiculous idea and cash your check, but that was your idea, and I just accommodate you. I don’t first give you a bad idea and convince you it is the best thing since boobs on a stick and then take your money.

This black hat stuff (see I learn a few new words every day), just doesn’t jibe right for me. I have been in a cutthroat business for 2 decades, but there is always a line that almost no one crosses in every business. Those who cross it, well you get the scarlet letter and it doesn’t fade for years. Who needs it? I know these things because being in the software business actually gets you deep into the inner sanctum of dozens of other types of businesses, mom and pop to Fortune 10, over the years so you can get some serious perspective in my field.

Ok, somebody besides Vic and Jesus, tell me how to get rich doing this stuff and not have to drink myself (more) into a stupor or go on (more) meds to live with myself?

Nice site. Virgin visitor, but will be reading more here if this wasn’t to lame for you.

Spam… sorry, I’ve already deleted the comment. Asim made a little boo boo that we had to point out.

I think the next blog I’m going to create will be the blogbog… where we all can share drunken moments of depression and self loathing. LOL. Anyway, thanks again for the great comment, we look forward to seeing plenty more of ya!

  45. Reacher Says:

I appreciate the welcome PB. You never know how people will receive you when you have only text to rely on. It looks like you have a good good crowd here. I have had you bookmarked for a few days since I found your site, chipping off a little time here and there to read it. I like your like your straight up tone and that you don’t appear to have delusions of grandeur like a lot of other writers (no names yet) that I have cruised lately. I can appreciate a pragmatic sensibility.

One man to another, don’t think twice about pulling out of a bet with a huckster. I only bet with people I trust. No shame in waving it off. I agree with the consensus here, it is nonsensical. I have some loud mouthed “associates” who like pulling that kind of thing out when they are wounded grievously. You know you are being baited, and that he is all talk anyway. You hears the bleating about how much his income has sunk recently. It is a neanderthal knee-jerk reaction to want to start a pissing contest instead of concentrating on putting out his fires. Irresponsible and ignorant on his part and a waste of everyone’s time, but for the train wreck fascination of it. I wouldn’t bet lunch with someone willing to post their themselves having a break from reality on the internet, even if it was a sure win.

Anyway, again thanks much. I am cobbling something together to float out in the next few weeks or so but I will stop in and check things out when I take breaks. I enjoy your work and I suspect I can learn a lot from you and your friends here. All the best.

  46. Reacher Says:

I just caught the connection. FrayingEdges.com = Zania. Sorry I am a little slow this evening.

@Zania, based on your writing here I wouldn’t have suspected that you would have a site focused on depression and related conditions. I am sure it is a story for another day, but it looks like heart-felt, fine work that you do. I will read more of it as I can. We’ll swap stories some time. I have had my bouts with OCD and related sundries over the years, for now I have sworn off all of the hard stuff and am down to Valium and light alcohol abuse, or as I call it, dessert. Actually feeling better now than in many years when I was on meds trying to remember what good felt like. The human condition and what we have to do to keep it together. Keep up the good work.
