I need some help with Blog Fluff!
Okay guys and girls… I’m in a bind here and need a little help! Yeh, it’s one of those posts that we all dread but I’ve just got to ask. As some of you might know, Bryan Clark’s Site Flipping contest is well on it’s way… I’m in it to win it… but my problem… I have NO CLUE what my new blog should be about, and the clock is ticking. My heart is here at PB… and anything that REALLY inspires me, I want written for this blog, not one I’ve got to sell in 27 days!
The original idea
As most of you all know by now, I work some pretty hectic hours at my day job so finding not only the time, but the inspiration to make a salable blog in under thirty days is a tough nut to crack. None-the-less, I’m going to get in there and do it… or at least I hope so!
My original idea was to create something that I would not have to personally update everyday so that I can focus my attention here at PB, work, and on all my new premium themes I’ve been working on. Did I mention that I’m working on acquiring a new online business too? Yep, I’m nuts. But the goal behind Blog Fluff was to be fun… fun and profitable. I’ve gone from classified ads for bloggers, to private blog messaging, to ope source link building, to satirical cartoons and other random bits. Have a look… it’s a picture of “Vic” with his hand in a goat’s ass for God’s sake!
I’m swamped and feeling a bit dizzy.
With so much going on and so many hands in the cookie jar, I’m finding it hard to keep a focus on my goals. PB is growing at a staggering pace for being so new… I get nearly 10 new inquiries ever day about custom WordPress themes… and my nerves are shot! I really need some help!

So there they are in all their glory! What on earth am I going to do? Blog Fluff… I thought it was a cute little name… and I really thought my concept would work… but at this point I’m realizing it needs an immediate overhaul. Suggestion… comments… anything is welcome and greatly appreciated so let’s here ‘em!

Hey PB, I know where you’re coming from. I chose to “Go Green” last minute but would have preferred to research a different niche to use for this. I think I only saw the contest 5 days before it started to I had to act quickly in between other tasks/projects.
You already have the Goat’s Ass image and the backgorund story, why don’t you use Blog Fluff to taunt Vic on a regular basis for 30 days? That’d be pretty decent link bait.

I have been so busy with stuff that I just concocted mine the night before we had to give our details to Bryan!
However I am liking my blog and may be reluctant to sell it!!
This comp will be an eye opener for all of us but I am not in it to win it. I just want to learn.

@ Jovana: I’ve thought about doing hundreds of things, but the reality is that I think my focus needs to remain on making some more money in my private online ventures and building up PB even better than it is now. Who knows… maybe it does make sense to just make something totally silly and care free.

Then how about we do this - I’ll take over Blogfluff and I’ll give you ten percent of all the profits it generates if I make any or sell it for any random amount, LOL.
That way you can focus on PB and make more serious money online ^_^

I am actually interested. I grew up with two elder brothers and their 500 friends, so I’m pretty much a tom boy and lived on playing pranks back on my brother.

I’m sure the men here (and most everywhere) are familiar with the term “fluff”. (Proof positive that porn isn’t all bad). For those who need a refresher - there are “fluffers” who “fluff” up guys before they go onto a scene.
I’d do the practical joke thing - Blog Fluff - Making your Blog Rock Solid. Direct it towards the subject of strengthening up your blog - ways to make it more secure, better themes, plugins - tips - tricks.
Enough from me, back to Jenna Jamison movies.

I started quite well but then had a loss of focus second only to yours. I see you cannot even wait 30 days to sell your site?! Are things really that bad for you? I know like me you have a lot on your plate at the moment but if you need something just holla. I could do with a bit of a kick up the ass myself so any thoughts are welcome. You are really good with design, you created a solid blog look on Blog Fluff, the design alone is worth MONEY. Dont be so hard on yourself.
You strike me as being waaaaaayyyy toooooo haaaarrddd on yourself. Your design skills are worth MONEY. Have you ever thought of creating myspace comments? EC banners? Custom wordpress themes? etc.

I personally would go after new bloggers who need/want design work. But since you’re rather new, you will have to go low on rates. Or you can go after businesses who are creating new blogs.
Use this blog as your mouthpiece (via SEO) to reel them in. Have your portfolio page and rate page, ready. Start writing content on here, that googlers will find based off (design related) keywords.
Hope i havent rambled on too much. Just trying to be helpful. I think peole that have solid skills, be it programming, coding, design, etc. are all…….wait for it……money!

@ Missy: Quote of the year “Dude, you are the MONEY!”… That’s an awesome compliment.
I don’t think I’m too hard on myself, I think I all to often voice my frustration with my current position in life. My personal life is awesome. I have a beautiful, loving, woman who takes prefect care of me… I’ve got a GREAT job… I’ve got a few MMO projects that have been profitable since day one… but I’m a goal setter and go getter! I need to be challenged and then reap the rewards for a job well done.
At my day job… I might build 75,000 worth of websites in a month… but I still earn the same amount… there is no real goal. There is no real motivation for a creative person like myself.
As for your proposed action plan… I’m all for it and it’s a great idea. What I don’t want, is this blog to turn into a “designers” blog. I like my current niche…. “nothingness”
As for being new to the game… this blog is new… but I’ve been doing website design and development for a long while. I’ve got quite a client list, but I’ve got to watch out for permissions and conflicts of interest. Great motivational comment! Thanks Missy!

Didn’t know you were in this contest as well….I got a buddy in this, Forest, he had been telling me about it. I’m still not too sure what a blog fluff is or why I’d like to purchase one!
I think it can be hard to create a site to sell, especially if you get too attached and see it really take off.
We bloggers tend to put a lot of work into our blogs, and building one with the intent to sale takes a plan up front, so you try not to get attached to it.

@ JK… Blog Floff has been many things. This includes the information as well. Some things have been missing for about a week that helped make sense of it all. Don’t worry though, I’ve got a plan and Blogg Fluff will be back in action very soon.
