Site Flipping Contest? Hell yeah!

Business, Freebies, Fun Stuff

Alright people it was about time that someone offered up another contest! When I saw the post go up on Bryan Clark’s Site Flipping University… I was THRILLED… and then… I was INTIMIDATED! Even though you guys should go read the full contest rules on your own… I’ve put the points system up just to show you guys how well thought out this contest is.

Contestants will be given points based on the following criteria.

  • 10 Points for each Feedburner Subscriber
  • 2 Points for each unique visitor
  • 1 Point for each pageview
  • 5 Points for each unique visitor from an ORGANIC source (i.e. Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.)
  • 10 Points for listing the auction
  • 100 Points for a successful sale (price doesn’t matter)
  • 50 Points for having the MOST traffic
  • 100 Points for having the most ORGANIC traffic
  • 100 Points for having the most Feedburner Subscribers
  • 50 points to anyone who opens a new Hostgator account under my (his) affiliate link. The proceeds will be split with the winner of the contest. Pretty good deal right? And it’s $10 a month for unlimited domains, and the best host on the market… (I’m actually the best host on the market) :-)

I Need a Brand New Domain?

After you start reading… you start to understand that this isn’t your normal contest. No way… this sucker has got a twist in the pickle like none other! Holy smokes Bryan… I’ve got to register a brand new domain name? You’re really making this a toughie aren’t you? As if domain names aren’t already hard enough to find we’ve got to find a good one… that’s never been registered before… build a blog around it… and sell it in 30 days!

Who Needs Money When You’ve Got Traffic?

Okay so we all know by know that Bryan’s no push over with his “rules and regs”… but he’s kicking up a notch by not giving ANY credit to the blog that sells for highest price. C’mon Bryan can’t ya give a guy a break! We only get points for organic traffic! When this thing is all done, I’ll never want to sell it after all that bloody work!

Get Over There and Register!

Well I must say that just reading Bryan’s post is bringing out the competitor in me, so I’m seriously thinking about getting on board and joining up even though I’ve now officially got NO extra time! All in all, I think that this is a sweet contest with some pretty sweet prizes that every blogger would want! Let me know if you guys and gals plan on joining… you never know… I might just beg Bryan to let me donate some sort of kick ass prize!

Now go check out the Blog Flipping Contest!

Here’s A Kick Ass Update for Ya!

I’ve just been notified that Bryan has now been persuaded to take me on as a contest sponsor! That’s right people… as if I’m not already giving you guys the world… here’s one more chance to get an awesome theme design worth about $900.00 bucks from yours truly! So get off your rumps and get registered!

Thanks PB! I’d love to have you on board for the contest, so get on it! Also, the reason the highest sale price isn’t figured into the points is because it’s too easy to manipulate. All it takes is one dishonest person that uses a friend to buy it for them, and then doesn’t collect on the deal.

One more thing… it’s on TRAFFIC & STATISTICS in general, not just organic traffic. Organic traffic does count for more in the point total though! Hope to see everyone taking part :)

    Hi PB,
being a little competitive myself :) this contest got me very interested…
The trouble is, I will be on a plane to the UK in about 30 hours from now and flying back home… I don’t know when, so I can’t do it.
I might just try to follow along later though, if the posts remain on the blog for me to read when I get back. I’ll go over again to siteflipu and check.

Looks like Bryan is pulling out all the stops with this one. I have to hand it to him, he’s right on the ball. Should work well for him and the winner, plus everyone else should get some decent information out of it too.

The only minus I see at the moment (from a purely selfish perspective) is the mention of the mentoring program coming up at 47 dollars a month. I’ve nothing against that at all, there had to be a reason for siteflipu.com. Most people who read Bryan’s blog are on the net to make money and know that is what Bryan is there to do also. And I guess many people who read it will already have seen what Max has done with Blogging Experiment and his mentoring program, along similar (though longer term, bigger money) lines.

It’s just that after watching how much information about buying and selling websites is hinted at but no longer given by Max on BE, I just wonder how much information on site flipping will be kept back for Bryan’s mentoring program…

I’m not picking holes by the way (perish the thought ;) ), just wondering…

    Me again, lol!
I’ve just asked Bryan and the details will be on the blog.
So now I have to put my efforts where my mouth is and build a site to flip when I get back. :)

  4. Bryan Clark Says:

Zania – Valid point! However, the blog will keep offering the same information as long as I own it. I won’t start shielding the “real” money-makers for my mentor group. The difference between the free info on the blog, and the mentor group is that you have 24/7 access to me, and I can forward along deals that I find, but don’t have time for. The info will still be on the blog, but for the fee, I’ll be there to give you one on one support to start making you money almost immediately.

It’s more of a “club” if you will, and the price of admission is definitely worth it. However, it’s still not out of the “beta” phase. I have a couple of testers, and we’re going to see how they do with my methods.

  5. zania Says:

    Thanks for clarifying that Bryan.
I was hoping that would be the case.
Hope the beta testing of the mentor program goes well. It looks interesting.

Let battle commence! This is going to be a really good competition.

“When this thing is all done, I’ll never want to sell it after all that bloody work!”

I was thinking the same thing! Well, if you are far enough ahead in other areas, you might still be able to win without selling (-100 points). lol

    Looking forward to the battle!

    Jay
